Hiya All

Do you have some colours that you love and wished they stayed on for longer?

I know I do.. OPI Rainforest, Jasper Jade, Zulu, Essie Starry Starry night.... I could go on and on.

I know I get cranky when I want to wear the colour for 1-2 weeks and it chips half way through. I recently went to a Young nails course and found the perfect solution for me. Its a soak off gel so comes off with acetone, but it cures like gel so doesn't move until you remove it, lasts up to 2-3 weeks! You can actually mix ANY nail colour you love into the gel and pop it on your nails like polish.... cure and u have lasting polish!

I will be doing a starry starry night soon, so hope to show u! Its worth looking into if u have fallen inlove with a colour and cant stand to remove it. Hmmm holo my private Jet might be worth a try!

Hi All

Just thought would show you a set I had fun doing today. A set of IBD gels using extreme clear for strength and glitter pieces for the smile line.

I am going to do my nails tomorrow with OPI pink flamingo gel, so it will be interesting to see how close it is to the colour in the bottle. I was thinking what is OPI my private jet like in gel.. I bet its not the holo version which sux!

Sephora OPI's

Hi All

Hope you are all doing well. Today I have for you some Sephora OPI's. I really like this brand, but being in Australia its kinda hard to get my hands on them. Two I got recently are Social Climer and Opening night.

I am not a huge fan of silvers or the more paler colours but really didn't mind Social Climer. I was surprised at how nicely it applied and the good coverage of the polish. The polish only needed 2 coats and wasn't streaky at all. It was glossy prior to top coat too!

The other Colour I received was Opening night. I just love blues and dark colours so was very excited by this one. This again applied really well and only needed 2 coats. This it a mix between OPI Yoga ta get this blue and Russian Navy. Soooo in love with this one!!!!

Orly Gorgeous

Hi All

Today I thought I would show you something I just moved to my swap bin. Orly Gorgeous, even though its gorgeous it wasn't enough to keep me from putting in my swap pile. This looks so much better in the bottle than on the hands. In this pic I used 2 coats and you can still see the nails underneath.... not something i like. The things I like about this polish is the shine and the purple undertones to it... just lovely!

Hiya All

Sorry it has taken me a while to do a post, but most of you are aware I just had a baby. My little one was born on March 16th and I named him Liam John. Here are some pics of the little man.

I wanted to cut my nails prior to going into labour but it didn't happen lol.... so there i am chewing my nails off after having the baby..... heheh too funny. All the nurses commented on my chewed up nails hehehe.

I thought i would show you a few pics of nails I had prior to cutting them.

OPI Asia Pink Collection for 2009

Hope you have all been well!

Today I have for you a few colours I got a few weeks ago and finally gave them a try today. There are 4 new colours that have been released for Asia and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of them. I love pinks so was thrilled when I got these, I have to say I like them all.

Pink Cupcake

The first one I tried was Pink Cupcake..... Oh I just LOVE this one. Its a real girly bubble gum pink with a lovely shimmer throughout. The shimmer gives the polish a lovely purple glow in the shade. Did I mention I LOVE this one...

Pink Caramel

I was not so sure about this one when i saw it in the bottle, but on the nail it looks lovely. Its not a bold over the top pink. Its a subdue light pink with small glitter throughout. It really is a soft pretty colour that is great if you don't want something over the top... but one something that has a lovely glow.

Pink a peach

This looks light a lighter version of pink cupcake but doesn't have such a purple glow, this one seems to be more gold based. I love the shimmer thought this one... so pretty!

Last but not least

Sugar cookie pink

I just loved this colour instantly when I saw it in the bottle but was a little disappointed about how sheer it is. I had to use 4 coats to get a similar look to what is in the bottle. This one is a really light jelly based colour and if you wanted you could incorporate it in a french mani or do the 4 coats and have a soft barbie look. I prefer to 4 coats... but don't have the time to let it dry!

Scandal Polishes

I am sorry about the delay in swatching these. I bought these a while ago and just haven't had the change to use them. I finally got around to swatching them on a opaque false nail. These bottles look exactly like the NFU-Oh bottles. These are not only lovely to look at but the colours are really nice too. All the pictures are all with 2 coats of polish and 1 coat of top coat.

Olive Pearl. This one is a lovely emerald green glitter polish. It is full of large and small glitter pieces and is fairly heavily glitter packed.

Madelene Green. I really like this one its a dirty olive green with silver glitter throughout, application on this one was excellent.

Love Holic green. Oh I LOVE this one, its a creamy grass green and applies like a dream!

Olive green. This is a light olive green colour packed full of gold glitter

Shining purple. OH I LOVE THIS. This is a heavily packed purple glitter polish suspended in a jelly like base, just amazing!

Dynamic Pink- This is a pink jelly base with rainbow coloured glitter pieces floating throughout. As its a jelly base its somewhat a little sheer but still lovely.

Red Spindle - A light pink jelly based polish with a mixture of small and large glitter pieces throughout. This is somewhat a little sheer for me.

Purple Star - A VERY light purple based glitter with small glitter pieces and large star glitter pieces, looks good in the bottle but I just don't like it on the nail.

Disco Purple. Oh I love this one its kinda in between Dynamic Pink and Red Spindle just lovely

China Glaze - Meteor Shower

Hope you are all well. Today I actually got around to painting my nails.... mind you I did it outside so the smell was somewhat subdued. This colour arrived in my mail today and I just HAD to try it. China Glaze Meteor shower, oh it looks amazing in the bottle.

I found it looked gritty and clumpy with the first coat but the second coat seemed to fix it up a little. The colour is truly lovely, its a blue base with multi coloured glitter throughout that doesn't over through the blue.

I am however disappointed with the finish. The finish is gritty and the polish was gloopy to use. The finish is very much the same as China Glaze Flying dragon... GRITTY... so you will need a really good topcoat. Even with top coat there is some grit to the polish. Overall I do like the polish, the glitter and depth of blue is just stunning!

Hope your all doing well. Today will be a very quick post of a oldie I have sitting around. Int'l date line is a colour I am iffy over, I have only worn this twice and still cannot decide if I should keep it or throw it.

The application is lovely but that's due to the fact its the old formula and full of lovely chemicals. In this pic I have 2 coats and the nail is fully opaque.
Should I keep it or throw it?

I know I know I have been MIA lately... but for good reason. Some exciting news... I am having a baby! I am currently at the 1/2 way mark now.. all the morning sickness has gone, but guess what the smell of polish makes me feel sick... how crap is that.

Anyway I have a few back ups of pics I took ages ago that have been sitting in drafts so thought I would work my way through them until I can handle the polish smell. This polish is called OPI Nordic nights, its a fairly old polish so it has the old formula and applies wonderfully. This is a lovely creamy dark bluish red. This is actually one of my fav reds .... darn OPI for discontinuing it.. I don't have much left!!

OPI Concept store Malaysia

Hi All

Going through some of the honeymoon pics today and have found some I thought I should show you. While in Malaysia I went to an OPI concept store... I had seen it on the Internet and was excited about it so thought I would pay a visit. My jaw just dropped when I saw the store... the whole wall was just plastered in OPI Nail polish.... THAT'S MY KINDA PLACE LOL . Every treatment in the store was using OPI products which was fabulous.

The only disappointment with the place was the hygiene. I thought being an upmarket salon they would have taken more care and pride in their store. All the products for pedicures were in these crappy buckets and I didn't notice any sanitising of metal utensils. Sorry but I am a stickler for hygiene when it comes to working on peoples nails. Apart from that the store was amazing... I think I spent around an hour just browsing the polishes... pure heaven

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all been well!. I had a lovely wedding and fab honeymoon.

For the Honeymoon I went to Malaysia and Thailand. They are both amazing countries and all the people there are lovely. During the trip I think I had about 3 massages and 7 pedicures... every street had a beauty place.. so I thought why not.

One of the most interesting Pedicures I had was a Fish pedicure. Basically there is a massive tank filled with fish that like to eat dead skin and scales of other fish. At first I was a little unsure whether to get one or not.... but thought why not, I am not here everyday so why not try it.

I was so pleased that I tried it as I ended up loving it.

Today I thought I would pop in and show you some Scandal polishes I got the other day. I am dying to try them... but alas I will not be able to until I return from the Honeymoon. So thought I would show you some pics and close up pics. These bottle look VERY close to the Nfu-oh branded polish.

I have used scandal polishes before and I find them great to work with. The one thing I really like about them is they contain a lot of glitters in their collection and some yummy greens. Anyway enough talk on to some pics.

OPI DS Divine, Asia Version

Had some spare time so thought I would post. How have all of you been???? It is getting close to the wedding day now, getting excited and nervous all at the same time. I had a few spare minutes to paint my nails today so I thought I would show you a pic of OPI Designer series Divine made for the Asian market.

I am totally loving this one, its a super crazy packed medium purple glitter polish, heavily packed with silver glitter. This polish applied extremely well. I used 2 coats in these pics and no top coat... and look how glossy it ended.

I know I have been silent for a while but there has been a heck of a lot going on at the moment. Wedding is around 6 weeks away.. and I am desperate for my honeymoon! One of the places I am going to is KL in Malaysia. I am so excited to go there as there is a massive OPI concept nail bar there. Apparently this was the first one in the world to open and from pictures it looks amazing.

I am certainly going to spend a few hours here.

OPI Blooming collection

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, have been busy with wedding preps. I have one more post after this one and then will be taking a break for a while. The colours I have for you today are from the OPI blooming collection, which is an Ulta exclusive. I found all of these colours to apply well.

The first colour I tried was OPI Fuchsia Fling, I absolutely love this colour, its a darkened creamy fuchsia pink. Hot stuff!

The next colour is OPI I'm OK You're bouquet. I was a bit sceptical about this colour as I am truly not a fan of light or baby pinks but I actually surprised myself and loved this one. This is a creamy baby pink with a blue undertone.

Last but not least OPI The Violet-ter, the Better. This colour I adore. This is a medium purple that leans towards pink. It applies like a creme and has a very subtle shimmer to it.

Bloom Bonnie

Still feeling a little on the sick size, but nearly all better. Think a few more days in bed may fix me up. In my crazy haze of sickness I cut my nails. The good thing is now i can wear hot dark colours on my nails. I actually managed to change the colour on my nails this week. Today I have for you Bonnie which I had on for 1 day and then went back to wearing nothing on my nails.

Bonnie is an awesome colour from Bloom and I would have to say this is my fav from their collection. Its a lovely dark blue packed full of micro blue glitter pieces. The application is excellent, 2 coats and the nail is opaque. It also dries glossy so its super glittery. Just love this one.

Oh I also made my nails even shorter today again hehe. I think I will be applying some false nails on for the wedding, simply due to the fact the management over the wedding will be much easier for me... So will show you what they look like when i get time to apply them.

Orly Silent Night

Hope your well. I am sick as a dog with the flu, hence why there hasn't been a recent post. Had a fever last night with a temperature of over 41. Finally broke this morning and feeling better.. still worn out and tired tho. I guess that's what happens when winter comes along.

Over the weekend when I was feeling much more alive I swatched a colour I have had for SOOO LONG but have never tried..... Orly Silent night. This colour is a lovely blue based colour with both blue and silver glitter suspended in it.. looks like a night sky to me. The application was really good for an Orly. It took 3 thin coats to get the look what the bottle shows. As for wear... as I have been sick I have been unable to change my nails :-( but glad to say this one is still on and going strong. Only minimal tip wear to be seen.

I love this colour but desperate to change my nails!.. however wont be happening until i am better.

OPI Rinse Charming...lovely

Hope you are all well. Today I have for you a favourite of mine. Its a silver foil colour from OPI called Rinse Charming. This colour was released with the OPI Whirlpool collection. It came with what I believe 2 reds. I love this colour as its unique to any other OPI I own. It really reminds me of foil, you need 2 coats to get the exact look of the bottle and it dries with a foily shimmer. The application was OK, as this has a foil finish it was streaky on the first coat but the second coat fixed all that up. However in saying all that... it you have any flaws on you nails like ridges this polish with make them noticeable due to its consistency. All in all I love this colour!

Bloom Jessica Mauboy I

Well its Friday tomorrow.. and hooray for that. Weekend is just a blink away. I hope to get some swatching done over the weekend. Today I have for you Bloom Jessica Mauboy I. I absolutely love this colour. Its such a great red. The polish is packed full of red and gold glitter, which is really noticeable on the nail. I am hoping to pick up 2 more blooms on the weekend... just loving them at the moment.

Hope you are having a good week. Today I have for you Bloom Mena. This one totally reminds me of OPI My private jet... the holo version. The application of this one is excellent, 2 coats and the nail is completely opaque. The polish had a nice consistency.It went on smooth and was not too thick at all. I have to say that the holo effect is more noticeable in the bottle rather than the nail.... but still looks great!

I have one other colour to show you later this week and its hot!

Well the long weekend has come to a close, hope you have all had a great weekend. I spent a little bit of time swatching the Blooms I picked up over the weekend. Today I have for you Zooey. I love this color, its a grey based polish packed with grey silver flakes. Th application of this one was a little crappy. It was a bit thick and gloopy, but only 2 coats was needed due to this. Even though this is a glittery polish it still dries glossy for me.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the bloom range and hope to get more of their polishes soon. OK enough talk time for pics.

Today I have for you Bloom Elise. I bought this one yesterday and OMG I am loving it. This one is a lovely purple/magenta colour that has micro glitter flake throughout. The application of this was good 2 coats and the nail is opaque. The polish dried somewhat glossy as in my pics I have no top coat on at all.

OPI Sunbelievable Collection... a big meh

Today I have for you some pics of the OPI Sunbelievable collection. I have to be honest and say I was not impressed or overwhelmed by this collection. The only colour that kinda caught my fancy was the blue called Sea? i told you. This one reminds me of Azure for sure but with a bunch of glitter thrown in. Here are some pics.. note there is not much sun out in Aus these days so pics are a little on the dark side

Banana Bandanna

I totally hated this one. This was so hard to apply evenly and looked disgusting after it was applied. It is so watery and streaky and super disappointing. Sorry if you like yellows.... but this is really a bad one.

If the Fuchsia fits

Now this one is a great colour, a lovely blue based pink. It applied OK, again a little watery and for such a great colour its far too sheer. In the picture i have 3 coats and you can still see my tips under the polish. Hmmm a little disappointed with this one.

I'm his coral friend

Well I love corals, so I was drawn to this one. Is this meant to be a jelly? as it applies like one. Again i found this a little sheer but the application was good and the colour... ohh I love the colour. I still think I would buy this one again.

Now to the one I adore from this collection

Sea I told you

This is a super colour. A lovely deep blue which has an aqua shimmer throughout. This was the only one from the collection that applied well. 2 coats and your nail is opaque with colour. I adore this one!

OPI Berry Extraordinary..OoOoohhh

Has everyone got over their Mondayitis? I think I still have mine.... and its Wednesday tomorrow..eeek

Today I have for you swatch I did over the weekend. OPI Berry Extraordinary, a really nice blue based pink with a micro shimmer through out. I like this one but its very dupey so its not something I am going to try to wear often, but had to try it out. The one thing I really do love about this colour is the application. It took 2 light coats to cover the nail, which is excellent as it took next to no time to dry. I also love the way it is really glossy prior to topcoat and just shimmers in the sun. This one is defiantly going to get a turn on my toes... yes even though its winter I still obsess over doing my feet.

I find it essential to do the upkeep on the feet even though you don't see them too often during winter. Summer sneaks up and the worst thing is to have neglected feet during winter, as it takes all summer to get them back to looking great.

How many of you still do pedicures throughout winter? I gave myself a paraffin pedicure over the weekend, lots of work but great results!

China Glaze Belle of the ball

Hope you had a good weekend!

Today I have for you another one from the collection I have been going through last week. Finally confirmed the collection is called the "Glass Slipper" collection... or as I call it the Cinderella collection. So the one I am sporting today is Belle of the ball. This one is is such a yummy strawberry red with heaps of shimmer. Again this collection reminds me of the new collection China Glaze has out called the Summer days collection. If you can find Belle of the ball I would not worry just go check out the summer days collection.

This colour applied really well, it took 2 coats to get the nails matching the colour in the bottle. This one doesn't seem to get as much tip wear as its other friends from the collection. Truly loving this one!

In the next few weeks I think I will be posting more soft shades, as the wedding is pending and i need to de stain my nails. So its time for some boring soft shade posts. Can you tell I don't like soft shades? .... on to some pics

hope you are having a great weekend. I have managed to get some swatching done today and following on from my last post... here is another from the same collection. I believe it was the China Glaze Glass Slipper collection. It seems I have a few from this collection... without even knowing.

Today I tried this lovely blue sparkly polish Stroke of midnight. It seems to border on aqua and has a silver glitter throughout. I am loving this one.. its so shimmery. 2 coats and you have an opaque nail. The formula is great as well, its not too thick or thin.... just loving it!

China Glaze WICKED STEPSISTERS... um wow

Well its Friday yay! I thought I would show you a yummy colour I am wearing over the weekend. This is HTF? I think it may be... Anyway this is a lovely deep shimmery red.

This one really reminds me of the summer days collection - Raspberry Festival. This applies exactly the same as the summer days collection. 2 coats of Wicked stepsisters and you have the perfect opaque colour. The only issue I have with this colour is noticeable tip wear... I have had this on for 1 day and my tips are already showing....... how annoying!

Zoya Indigo... I love you!

well its hump day and hooray to that! It has been a very long week. Today I have for you something I put on today that blew me out of the water. Zoya Indigo, I have NO idea why I haven't tried this one sooner... its fabulous. This is a lovely indigo blue with sprinkled glitter inside. The application is lovely, 2 coats and the nail is completely opaque with colour. The glitter in the bottle looks fab but it is somewhat subtle on the nail. Still lovely to look at, this polish really looks amazing in the sun. So enough talk here are heaps of pics!

Bloom Bianca... oh this one is hot stuff!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Today I managed to get a few swatches done and one of the polish I wanted to show you is Bloom Bianca. I have never tried bloom polish but and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The polish applied really well and had a great consistency.. not too thick or thin. In the pictures I have 2 coats on, I really don't think a third was needed.

I love how blue teal colour and how it takes on a whole new look in the sun. The only down side about the polish is the price... $20 a bottle.... or 2 for $15.

OMG Hot Topic Purple glitter....WOW and double WOW

Today I have on a colour that has absolutely got me staring at my nails every 5 minutes. I got this one in a swap yesterday and as soon as I saw it I just HAD to put it on. This is such an amazing colour, it reminds me of OPI Ink but with more bang. This colour is such a glittery purple with a heavy blue base and just packed and I MEAN packed full of glitter. The application was excellent 2 coats and you have the desired look of the bottle. The only bad thing I have to say about this polish is that I HATE hot topic bottles, the brush and bottle are just not practical to use. To combat this I have bought an empty bottle of polish and I am going to decant this one.

My dream now is to find a back up of this one! I think I will cry if I run out!!!! I have attached a heap of pics cos I just LOVE this colour!

China Glaze DV8

hope you are all well! Today I was looking through some of my pics I haven't shown you and I came across this little beauty. China Glaze DV8. This is from China Glaze OMG collection, which is still readily available. This is a lovely holographic teal, the application is excellent.. I didn't find it streaky but I have to say the lasting ability for this one is not the best. In saying that.... I tend to find holos don't last very well with me... not matter what routine I do!

So holo fans... what routine do you use to get lasting ability?

I just love how this colour looks on short nails.... its awesome.

Chanel Cosmic Violine 497... i love it!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts for my op. It went well and I should be back up and about in the next few days. For the moment I am feeling sorry for myself in bed, but at least i get to use the pc for a few hours..... thank goodness for laptops!

Today I have for you a Chanel I got a few weeks ago. Chanel Cosmic Violine, I know there have been mixed reviews about this one... but I love it. Its a lovely brown based red filled with gold and greenish glitter throughout. I find that the glitter is not as predominant as it is under artificial light. The polish applied like a dream, dried very quickly and the lasting ability was excellent. I generally find that Chanels wear really well on me... hence why I love them so.

I am not a huge Color Club fan but I do enjoy this color. Its such a vibrant shimmery blue.... but the name doesn't seem to suit it... how is this colour Emerald? Dunno... but still love the colour.

OPI My Private Jet... Old Formula VS New

I know this comparison has probably been done to death... but I had to see it for myself. OPI My Private Jet is one of my all time favourite colours. When it first came out I just could not get enough of the colour..... now it seems that OPI have changed the formula and ... I am sad to say I no longer like MPJ. I find the newer version to be less of a holo, have a somewhat purple base and applies like crap... far too thick. So I guess I will have to cherish the only bottle of OLD formula MPJ I have....... boo on you OPI!

China Glaze Moonpoool VS Zoya Madori

Hope you are all doing well. Its been a mega busy week for me and I only managed to scrape this swatch together today. I was looking through some of my greens and saw Madori and thought hmmm that it reminds me of Moonpool... so hence the swatch comparison. I found them to look quite different in the bottle but on the nail they are very similar. The main difference is that Moonpool is slightly darker and the application is much thinner due to the fact the bottle is old. Other than that if you are desperate to get yourself a bottle of moonpool... I personally wouldn't bother Madori is super close and the applications is x10 better!

Enough complaining, time to talk about my favourite topic.. nail polish. Today I have come quick and nasty swatches I did over the weekend from Zoyas new Ooh-La-La collection. I love all the colours in the collection except Emme.I found all of the polishes to apply well, last really well and look great, obviously with the exception of Emme. I found Emme to be streaky, you can see the brush stokes and not a pleasant colour to look at. So enough talk onto the pics

Today I have for you the Zoya La-Di-Da Collection Summer 2009. I have to say I am totally diggin this collection. This collection is full of cremes and there are some really awesome bright creams in here too. I can honestly say that there wasn't 1 colour I didn't like in the collection.. Zoya have really rocked it with this collection. OK on to pics now :-)

This one is a lovely medium yellow. I found the application to be excellent, it took 2 coats to get it opaque. I have to honestly say this is one of the better yellows I have tried. I tend to find yellows are really streaky but this one came up a dream.

Oh Paz how I love you... OMG is all I could say when I put this one on. I love this bright orange red... its super funky and just looks amazing on, I could not stop staring at my nails after I put this baby on. Apart from being a awesome colour .. the application for this one was a dream.. 2 buttery coats that ended in this awesome orange red dream of nail colour... loving this one!!!

Today I thought I would glam this blog up a little and show you some fun glitters. Much of my glitters do not get much love, so I thought I would break them out since the weather in Melbourne is so crappy this week.... wet and cold... glitters will cheer me up lol.

Paris Couture for sure
This is one is a really nice one. Its a silver based glitter top coat but has some multi colour glitter throughout. In this pic I have 3 coats. This would look great over a black.

OPI Silver snowflakes
This one is a straight silver glitter. The only time I use this is at Christmas for nail art as it tends to be too share to use on its own.. plus its quite plain.

OPI Cherry much in love
This one was released for Valentines day. It looks amazing in the bottle but I hate to say it... it looks tacky on the nail as its so gritty. The polish goes on like a jelly and is packed full of gritty glitter.

OPI Thrills in Beverley hills
I don't know why this one doesn't get more love. This is such a lovely antique gold glitter polish. Its not gritty and dries glossy. In this pic I have 3 coats on.

OPI Love will blossom
This one was released for Valentines day. Again this one looks amazing in the bottle but it looks tacky on the nail as its so gritty. This one is super is packed full of gritty glitter.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine has been full of doing wedding things and you guessed it.. painting nails lol. A few people have contacted me to ask me to compare OPI A grape Fit against a few other of opi's lilacs, so here the are.

You can see clearly from the pics below that they are all different shades of lilac. So if you are not sure whether or not you should get A grape fit as you may think its too close to Do you lilac it, be assured they are very different colours.

BB Couture for nails

Everyone seems to be talking about this brand at the moment on MUA (make up alley)... and I can see why, they are hot stuff. I recently received 5 bottles of this brand to try and my gosh I am love them.

I found the bottle to be a little bit of a let down, the cap should defiantly not be blue, I think it if was black it would look a little more professional, however the actual shape of the bottle is excellent and works well when holding it and trying to apply polish. I do this when doing my clients nails .. don't put the bottle down when I am painting.

The actual polish itself was excellent, it was really nice to apply and you only needed 2 coats to get the look of what was in the bottle. I found even the colours packed with glitter applied really well... which is unusual as I tend to find they are a little streaky with the first coat, where as BB was smooth.

So I think its about time to show you some swatches

The first one is called Butt Naked Bronze.... I just love the name, the colour is so so for me

Moon over Manhattan

I looked at the bottle and thought hmmm that's not something I would wear, it looks dull but oh my gosh when I put it on the nail I loved it!

Hemosa Surfer Girl

This one applies like a jelly and is packed full of gold and green glitter. This one looks a lot nicer on the nail than it does in the bottle, a real dark horse.

Balboa Beach Bunny

I have left my favorite two colours to last. I absolutely love the colour is a lovely purple packed full of purple and silver glitter. The glitter pieces are flecks, but there are also some glitter stings in there. Quite interesting

Midnight Malibu

When I see this colour I think Essie Starry Starry night. This colour is an excellent dupe for SSN. This is a lovely blue which not only has blue glitter throughout but it seems to have some purple glitter as well. This is by far my favourite of the bunch!

p.s, did u notice my nails are shorter? Yep filed them down.... shorter and loving it!

OPI Colour Copia... do not look like oldies

I was looking through my draws of polish today and decided to pull out 2 of the colours that OPI have re released. Upon looking at them in the bottle I thought hmmmm these old bottles do not seem to be the same colour of the new release bottles. I decided to do some further investigation and lookie what i noticed they are NOT the same colours!!!!

I only compared Venus Di Violet and Kinky in Helsinki but I SUSPECT all of the colours are going to have the same issue. They are just not the same shade as the old original versions.

OPI 2009 Brights Collection - Paige Denim

I haven't posted in a few days but have been busy doing some swatching so please forgive me. Today I received the Paige denim collection and I hate to say it.... OMG I love it. All the colours are cremes and they are all really nice. The application of all of them are excellent with the exception of the grey called Over the Taupe. The Taupe was runny and streaky.

The OPI Paige Denim collection has 6 shades which are all cremes. When I fist saw their promo pics I was thinking to myself .. oh just great another boring collection, but my opinion changed immediately once I started to do some swatching.

Essie Flirty Fuschia- ohhh u hurt my eyes ur so hot!

Today I am showing you a polish I have worn all week, as I did not have the heart to take it off I love it so much. Essie Flirty Fuchsia is an amazingly bright neon pink.... and when I mean bright... its so bright it almost hurt your eyes looking at it. The application of this one is great, it 2 coats to get the desired look of the bottle. You NEED a top coat for this one, as its Neon it dries Matt. The wear of this one is so so, its like all neon's... cracks after 3 days or so. I am not saying the wear or this is bad as such, its par on par with all Neon's.

I have had over 7 people comment on how good the colour is this week, they are amazed at how bright the polish it.... and how 'fun' looking it looks. I will be wearing this one again... its HOT stuff!

P.s A few people have asked what top coat I use to get my nails so glossy. The top coat I use is Essie good to go. Its amazingly glossy and doesn't take too long to dry. In saying that.. if I am in a huge rush I use China Glaze fast forward, its not as glossy but dies SUPER fast.. but the smell of the polish is awful... hence why I try not to use it much.

how cute are these nails! I found this pic today while sorting out files on my PC. I think this was taken around October 08. I believe I decided about a week after this one to grow my nails a little longer. I do however prefer the darker vampy colours on short nails. I am a huge fan of the colour by OPI Hollywood and Wine. Its a deliciously glossy vampy brown Burgundy. You only need 2 coats to get the look of what is displayed in the bottle and it gives you a glossy look.

Did I say I am a huge fan of this colour?..... HUGE! its just HOT

Hi All

This is another polish i swatched over the weekend. I am sooo loving this colour. I didn't experience the sheerness that everyone talks about, I found this polish to be excellent in all ways possible lol. I used 3 coats to get the look of the bottle and each coat went on really well. I didn't not find the polish to be watery and the final finish was not gritty at all. I love the golden shimmer this polish ha in direct sunlight, its so pretty!

This is an amazing brown and prefect for upcoming Autumn!

Well hope you all enjoyed the Easter break. I sure enjoyed my time off. Over the weekend I managed to do a few swatches. I decided to break out the Zoya's... and I am thrilled I did. I found some awesome pinks from Zoya

The first one of my pink collection is Trinity. This is lovely blue based metallic pink. I was a little skeptical on the colour when I put on the first coat as it was so sheer and streaky, but the second coat fixed it all up and made it look so glossy and dreamy

The second polish for my pink Zoya marathon is Dawn. Oh Dawn you are such a lovely dark creamy pink. I had no application problems with this one whatsoever. The polish is super glossy, in my pics i don't even have a top coat on.... and look how glossy it is.. amazing!

Last but not least is Zoya Sachi

This is another lovely dark creamy pink. I use this one a lot for my base for Konad designs. This one has excellent application, 2 coats and you have lovely glossy nails. The lasting ability of this one is also excellent, hence the reason I wear this pink so much. This is also a fab colour for the toes!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Easter break, I know I sure am, spending a bit of time doing some swatches. I noticed that everyone is really into the Essie love Beverly hills, so thought I would try out my bottle that has been sitting around the house. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how much I love this colour.

The application of this one is amazing, and I mean amazing.... it applies like butter onto the nail. With the first creamy coat the nail is already nearly opaque and the second coat just makes the nail dazzle. It is a rich red with a golden shimmer throughout and just glows on the nail. This polish is somewhat more expensive than a regular bottle of Essie, but if you are a fan of reds... u must add this to your collection. Move over OPI I'm not a waitress... I love Beverly hills has come to town!

Oh my gosh I was so excited when I got these, they are all such fantastic colours!

B-Girlz

This is a lovely hot pink shimmer. This has a kinda metallic shimmer throughout it. I found the application a little watery and you can still see the nail under the polish.

It's Poppin

This one is a lovely dark sexy hot pink. This one has a slight shimmer but only seems noticeable in the sun. The application was excellent and has a lovely glossy finish to it.

Style Wars

This is a lovely medium orange that applied like a jelly. This is a lovely warm toned orange with a fab glossy finish.

Entourage

This is a lovely yellow based lime green. This has a lemon and green shimmer throughout. I love the colour but it want the best to apply, it was a little wishy washy. I still love it though!

Oh how street it is

This is a vibrant red based orange which applied like a jelly. I adore this one, its application is fantastic!

Laced up

This one is a fun creamy candy pink. 2 coats and you have a a fully opaque nail. This one is so pretty!

Breakin

This is a lovely light tangerine orange. This is somewhat a muted orange and has a lovely golden shimmer throughout. I found the application a little streaky but the overall colour is fun.

Sneaker Head

This colour is a delicious watermelon red. This applied like a cream and has flawless application, 2 coats and you have an opaque nail. Such a pretty colour.

Sky High-top

A lovely darkened sky blue with a hint of shimmer. This one applied like a cream and you only need 2 coats to get an fully opaque look on the nail.

Fly

A lovely purple/magenta pink. This had a flawless application and only needed 2 coats to be opaque. This has a awesome pink shimmer throughout it. This one will defiantly be a fav pedi colour for me.

I have left my favourite 2 colours to last.

Customs kicks

This is a lovely turquoise mint green with a gold shimmer. This applies like a cream and has a perfect application. Just need 2 coats and you have a fully opaque nail. Super Super pretty!!!!

Paper Chasing

OMG I love greens and this just fulled my green addiction. This is a lovely fresh grass green with a lovely green shimmer throughout. The application was so so with this... so it really needs 3 coats but soooooooooo worth it!

Another Blue.... Sex in the City

Today I have yet another blue... I have been sporting blues all week. I have for you China Glaze Sex in the city. I swatched this one on the weekend, so you can kind get a look at how my nails are at the moment. However in saying that I broke a nail today.... but not on my hand i use for swatch pics ... thank goodness lol. So right now I have one hand with shorter nails than the other..... its really annoying me, I think I will shorten them all over the Easter weekend.

Anyway enough of nail breakage talk... its making me sad, onto pics. I love this colour, the only draw back is that it is still sheer on me after 2 coats. However the application and the lasting ability of this colour is fab!

If you have a look closely you will see that I have started to grow calcium/zinc marks on my nails which can be seen if the polish isn't opaque. For those who don't know what they are, they are small white spots on the nail bed. To date there is no explanation as to why they are formed. Some people say calcium deficiency, some say zinc. I find its whenever I loose weight I tend to get them. They grow out with the nail, so I have to just live with them for now.

Does anyone else get these? If so when do you find you get them?

I will post a pic of my nails without polish in the next few days so you can see how many spots I have got growing out. Its insane!

Essie North Fork Collection - my swatches

Was very excited when I saw these come out. Its about time Essie gave us have some blues rather than the some weird version of pink. The colours in this collection are all something worth trying, normally I find in a collection there is one I don't like... but happy to say all of them are excellent colours!

The first one I tried was Sag Harbour. This is a silvery blue with a shimmer to it. The application was excellent, no troubles there...two coats and your nail is fully opaque.

Next I have Greenport

Wow such a creamy Minty green which has some blue to it. No shimmer, 2 coats to get opaque and applies like a dream!

Last but not least.... Shelter Island. Ohhhh I love this blue. Its like a dark creamy baby blue. I love this colour but I found it somewhat hard to apply... worth trying though!

Aurba Aruba Aruba... Blue :-)

I feel sad moving the colorcopia swatches down the page but its time to liven up this blog with a great blue. Aruba blue is one of my favourite blues, its deep, glossy, lovely and hot. The application of this is excellent goes on like butter and you only need 2 coats. I wear this one on my toes all the time... but don't want to make you sick with a pic of feet so swatched on the nails for you. I just love how glossy this one is and it stays glossy for a few days without having to touch it up with top coat. This one is from Essies core line.

OH my gosh I cant believe I have been wearing the same colour all week. I loved the colour so much I just couldn't bare to remove it. The colour I am referring to the polish Hot Topic Blue Glitter. I am so in love with this colour.... its a fabulously glittery deep blue. The application is the only thing I wasn't a fan of, the brush and the bottle is so awkward but the reward of how the polish looks on the nail is well worth the trouble. I was really shocked by the lasting power of this polish, I have work it for 5 days straight and I only have minimal tip wear.

I am totally love this one, might decant it into another bottle though... with a nicer brush!

Ohhhh Essie Groovy Grape

Today I have for you Essie Groovy grape. I got this one in a swap as its not one that's available in Australia... mega bummer as its super hot. A BIG thank you to the lovely lady who swapped with me... u know who you are.... *hugs*
This one I believe is an Ulta exclusive (which makes me mad... Grrr and double grrrr!). Essie groovy grape is a lovely vampy purple with a real blast of deep purple shimmer to it. The application of this one was amazing, I tend to find Essie polishes a little wishy washy but this one was divine, almost opaque in 1 coat and just seems to glow with 2 coats! Apart from being a super colour with super application it has awesome lasting power too!

My pics were taken when the sun was setting so they look a little on the crap side, but at least you can see the shimmer and the way the polish just glows.

China Glaze - Rain Storm

This week I am sporting blues... so today I have for you China Glaze Rain storm. After a week of reds I thought it might be cool to try and give you a week of blues. Rainstorm is a lovely lilac based light blue with blue glitter suspended in it. It is quite sheer so you need 2-3 coats. Its such a lovely colour. In the picture I have 3 coats on as its sheer but super glossy.

I prefer bold or dark colours but this is something I think I can just handle wearing hehe.

Hi All

Well today I thought I would show you a colour other than RED. I actually got this colour about 2 days ago and just had to put it on immediately!. This colour is Nicole by OPI Midnight madness. I am not a huge fan of the Nicole colours but this one is definitely a winner.

This is a lovely blackened navy blue packed full of blue sapphire sparkles. The sparkles are really noticeable in the sun and shade. The application was excellent it was opaque at 1 coat but you need a second coat to show the true beauty of this colour. This is what I wanted OPI Midnight blue glitter to be.

1 more week to go till the Melbourne International Beauty Expo ... Yippeee!

Today I have another red for you. Gosh I have been spamming you with reds all week. I will have to give you some more variety next week! Today I have for you OPI Wanted red or alive, this is a lovely creme pinky red.....defiantly not a straight red.. it really has a strong pinkish tone to it. This one is fairy old, so it has the old formula and goes on like a dream. In the picture I have 2 coats and haven't applied a top coat yet.

This one is prefect for summer or winter, all round fabulous colour!

Oh my gosh the weather is really changing here in Melbourne. As Autumn is upon us here I decided to break out my favourite Autumn/winter colour grey. OPI you don't know Jacques is from the OPI French collection. It is a lovely darkened grey with a mauve undertone to it. It is a creme so it applied like a dream and you only need 2 thin coats to get an all over opaque look. The lasting quality is absolutely fabulous with this one. i have be able to go 2 weeks without chips with this colour.

Today I have yet another swatch from the weekend. OPI Bastille my heart, which is from the France collection. This is a gorgeous red, actually I would say its a lovely berry vampy red. This one applies really well, in my pic there is 2 coats which gave the exact colour of the bottle. This colour has a shimmer through it which is noticeable in the sun and direct light. In the sun you can see the magenta shimmer ..... however indoors it really is a vampy red. I find it tends to look like a dull colour indoors. :-(

This one is something i would wear on the feet more than the hands, but that's only because i love loud colours.

Another awesome red I tried over the weekend. OPI Red-y to hit the streets!. This one is close to dazzle me but the glitter suspended in this jelly is silver rather than gold glitter glitter. They are in the same vein of colour tho. This one applied like a dream and in the pics I have 2 coats. I do think, as this is a jelly you could really give it another coat if you wanted to... I personally thought it looked fine with just 2 coats.

On another note....I'm so excited I am off to the Melbourne International Beauty expo next weekend 4/5, I am hoping to bring back a truck load of interesting polishes to show you all.

Today I have another one of the swatches I managed to do over the weekend, this is actually one I decided to keep on for a few more days than just Sunday..... cos I loooved it so much. When i put this on the first thing that came to mind was.... why the hell didn't I try this baby sooner.

Its such a lovely rich jelly red packed with glitter. It sparkles like mad in the sun and just looks so glossy in the shade. Its not one of those glitter packed polishes that look gritty, it really is a classy polish. I am certain to be sporting this one over winter for sure!

Today I got to swatch 4 polishes, that's a big effort for me, as never have more than enough time to do 1-2.... so it was a good day.

Today I have for you dress to empress from 2005 Japanese collection. It is a lovely bright glittery red. This one applies like a jelly and you need 2-3 coats to get the look of the bottle colour, however you can slightly see the nail bed still, I still LOVE THIS ONE!

Hi All

China Glaze blue sparrow is the colour I am sporting this weekend. This one goes hand in hand with China Glaze flying dragon. They seem to be the same consistency and texture. This one is a dark neon blue packed full of aqua glitter. The application of this one is good, really need 2 coats for this and a top coat is a must.... a top coat is also a must due to the fact it dries flat as its Neon.

No matter what the season this one looks fab for a pedi!

I also wanted to give you an update on my nail wraps. The nail wraps have officially been removed. Its amazing the how much growth has come through since January.

Hey what a awesome colour OPI Have you seen my limo is. This one came out for Christmas 2007. Out of the entire collection this one is my fav!.

In the bottle it looks like a normal eggplant/blackish shimmery purple, however on the nail its a kind of durocrome purple. This colour is flashes green in the sun

The first coat seemed to go on streaky and looked like a light purple, but the second coat fixes it all up and gives you a lovely shimmery blackened purple.

Loving this one!

OPI Dont think just pink!

Today I have for you OPI Don't think just pink. Oh my gosh I am totally loving this colour. Its a creme light pink but has a lavender punch to it, which makes it somewhat of a cool shaded pink. The application of this is lovely. The first coat looks a little streaky but the second coat fixes all of that. It is somewhat a little translucent but its not obvious. It polish just seems to glow on the nails.

Hi All

Today I am posting a lovely green I am sporting for St Patricks day tomorrow. The polish is called Sinful San Francisco. I am totally loving this yellow based emerald green. Its a lovely glossy shade with a hint of green shimmer throughout.

The formula of this was nicer than I expected. It was not too thin and not too thick, just right. With the first coat it looked a bit wishy washy but the second coat fixed it right up. Excellent application 2 coats and you have the desired look (nail fully covered and colour matches the bottle).

Worth getting your hands on this one!

San Remo!

Wow OPI San Remo Rouge is AMAZING! I got this one last week and when I looked at the colour in the bottle I was like meh its ok but on the nails its stunning!!! Its such a creamy rose pink that just glows when its on the nails. I could not stop looking at my nails after I out this one on. In the pics I have 2 coats and no topcoat and its amazingly glossy!

OPI DS Royal - Jap/Asia Version

Today I thought I would show you something I tried recently and loved. DS Royal but the Asia Version. I am loving it its, its a lovely mauve purple packed full of holo glitter. The application of this one is superb and very easy to apply. In my pic I have 2 coats on and no topcoat It really is stunning!

This week I am on a green kick but I had to let you know about this one. OPI Its Toe-Tally Summer, why oh why haven't I tried this one sooner..I am LOVING this pink. This pink is a lovely darker barbie pink but its a jelly. It applies really well and in two coats you get a lovely jelly finish with only a hint of nail bed.

Not only was the application fab but the staying power of this colour is excellent. My pics were taken after 3 days of wear!!!!

Why couldn't Greenwich village apply like this one?

Hi All

As I am into greens this week due to the fact that St Patricks day is coming up. Oh I love a green beer and not to mention fabulous green nails. Today I have tried OPI Greenwich Village. In the bottle is looks like a medium yellow based polish. I just love the colour even though my fiance nick named this the "slime" colour. I was disappointed with the application of this one. I know it is a jelly base but its way too watery and thin. What you see on my nails is 3 coats and you can still see my nail beds. Other than the application I really still like this colour and will endeavour to try this one again.

I always try the ones I dislike twice, if I hate it twice its out the door!

Hi All

I put on OPI Ink today but by the time i went to take a pic of it... the sun was setting.

The only good thing about taking a pic when the sun was setting is the fact you can really see the gritty glitter in this polish. This is one of my all time favourite OPI colours. I think they really need to do more exciting colours like this one!

Hiya All

Today I have on a lovey colour called OPI Outback aphrodisiac. I have to say the name makes me giggle. The colour is so lovely it looks to me like a dark blue based cream pink. The application was great as its the old formula which I think is sooo much better than their new stuff.

If you cant get hold of this colour I think that there is a very similar colour in the OPI South beach collection!

I think its a perfect colour for the cold and rainy day in Melbourne Today.

My second post for today, I'm a little bored today. OPI Route Beer Float is a colour I was playing with over the weekend. It was the first time I tried it and I love love love it. This is a lovely brown with purple under tones and a slight shimmer. I found it glossy and just seemed to look like it was glowing on my nails when i was wearing it. In the pic attached I have 2 coats and no topcoat on.

This is a hard to find I love to bits! OPI My Auntie drinks chianti. This is a medium pink/purple with a little hint of shimmer. It is such a lovely colour or all seasons!

They should have brought this one back for color copia!

OPI Bittersweet Chocolate

I am not sure who they made this polish for, surely it doesn't suit anyone! In the bottle it looks semi OK, but on the nails it looks disgusting and I mean disgusting. The only nice thing I can think about this one is the fact that it comes out so glossy.. but that's about it!

This is a medium orange looking based puke brown. This is 2 coats. This one is a hard to find, and thank goodness i will not be searching this one out

Today I have yet another colour from the China Glaze Summer days collection. I just cant keep my hands off these colours since they arrived. They are all so juicy, bright and super fun looking colours.

Today I am sporting Raspberry Festival, I am a HUGE fan of reds so this one is really doing it for me. Its a super shimmery cherry red. When I look at the bottle in the sunlight I can see little flecks of silver and sold sparkles throughout it, however on the nails the gold sparkle throughout is more predominant.

Again in the pics do not look at the cuticle, blah blah blah, note that in the pic I have put on only 2 coats and I haven't applied a top coat yet.

I am sure I will be sporting this colour on my nails throughout winter!

OMG OMG OMG its watermelon rind!!!!!

Hi Guys

for those who know me, know that I have been DYING to try China Glaze watermelon rind, and guess what? It finally arrived today!!! wooohooo! Well When I first took the bottle out of its box I was stunned at its beauty. I have seen posts of this colour, which have been very flattering and I am proud to say it looks amazing in the flesh.

In the bottle its a stunning glittery teal based blue with what looks like blue and bits of green glitter flecks throughout it. I found this polish a little watery which means it took 3 coats to ensure that I could not see my tips under the polish. On the nails it just shimmers like diamonds mini diamonds. I know this wont be everyone's colour, but this is one that isn't garish and doesn't looks over the top. Its out there without being TOO out there if u know what I mean.

I will defiantly be getting a back up of this one it looks AMAZING. OMG all my nail polish dreams have come true with this colour.

Why cant OPI release a colour this exciting? Sorry to complain I will get on with it, here are some pics. Please be kind ... I have been cleaning my wax pots again today... why don't I wear gloves you ask? Well they melt from the cleaner! Imagine what they are doing to my hands..... I don't want to think about it lol.

Well today I felt a little blue, so thought I would try my Rodeo Fanatic. I am loving this teal based blue. It has a lovely teal shimmer throughout it without making it look over the top. I think the China Glaze rodeo collection has to be my favourite collection released for 08.

I am sorry for the cracked cuticles, I have been cleaning wax pots today so my hands are in dire need of a mani.

For those who are interested, I have chosen my bridal shoes, check them out..... what colour for a pedi????

Oh my gosh I am in love with this colour. This is is a lovely silver polish with tiny silver flakes throughout which makes it look gritty but doesn't actually feel gritty. Its such a glamour colour and just twinkles like crazy in the sun

So if you are looking for that WOW polish, this would definitely be up your alley.

Miami Beet VS My throne for a cranberry scone

Hi Guys

I picked up OPI Miami beet today and realised it looked very similar to another colour I have... OPI My throne for a cranberry scone. My throne for a cranberry scone is from the British collection and I believe has been discontinued... which is a shame.

In the bottle they look slightly different to eachother but on the nail I found them hard to work out which was which as they look exactly the same to me.

Also something interesting, my soon to be hubby saw my new OPI babies from the South Beach collection on the dining room table.... I said to him so what do you think about the new collection... his answer to that was, why do they keep releasing the same colors over and over... isn't that boring? My answer to that is YES!! HOW BORING!

By the way he thought that Bronzed to perfection looked like someone swallowed the polish and threw it back up... awful hahahah

Helllooo today I have for you China Glaze In the lime light. I am totally loving this colour. This is such a vibrant delicious green with a slight microshimmer. Its a neon so its lovely and super bright. I was feeling a bit daring so I slapped this one on my nails today and I am LOVING it!

Splurged today on a pedi and got a lovely comment about my nails today, Nail tech thought they were fake hahaha

Today I thought I would show you a colour I have been wearing for the last 2 days. Misa Toxic Seduction. I am absolutely loving this colour. In the bottle it looks like a blackened forest green but when its on your nails it looks a little more teal than green. Its so glossy and has been wearing really well.

Lovely people I need your help choosing a polish to wear for my wedding day, have you got any suggestions. I don't want a french, looking for something subtle. My wedding dress is a off white almost gold in colour... so what polishes could you recommend?

This has to be my all time favourite colour from Essie. Essie Starry Starry nights. Its an amazing blue with silver glitter suspended in it to look like a starry night. This colour not only looks amazing but it wears amazingly well too.

This is defiantly in my top 10 of all time favourite colours, if only I could find a back up bottle!

Today I thought I would show you a colour that looks fab in the bottle but meh not that awesome on the nails. I present to you Zoya Jade. When I saw this one I was so excited, I thought it was going to be a red version of Zoya Roxy, but I was sorely disappointed. In the bottle it looks like a dazzling bottle of red sparkles.. swimming all around making me giddy, but on the nails it looks like a flood of glitter mess. In my pic I have 4 coats on and its still translucent and looks like a watery mess. Oh well... this ones off to my swap list.

South Beach x2

Hi All

today I thought i would post 2 shades from the south beach collection. I have to say I am not overly impressed by the collection, the colours that have been released are a similar shade to colours OPI already has in their range. However as I love the quality of OPI polishes I had to give these ones a try

First is Done Out in Deco. A lovely Easter egg/Candy purple. Which reminds me of I lilac it but darker. This is a lovely creme so its a dream to apply and the wear is pretty good too.

Next I present... Over Exposed in South Beach... ho hum... this ones boring.
