2 CLICK HERE TO LEAVE A COMMENT
Hi Guys
I have now decided i am now going to grow my nails a little longer for the new year. To help assist me past the awkward stage of getting the nails past the end of my beds i have put some nail wraps on. These pics of my nails were taken on the 30/12/08. It will be interesting to see how quickly they grow. I will be taking some more pics on the 1st of Feb to show u how they have changed. Check out the pics and see if you can see the nail wraps.

In the pic i have put on my all time fav colour from 2008 which is Zoya Roxy to help bring in the new year!
Happy new year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nightfall

China Glaze nightfall. I knew I had this one but could not find it for over 3 months. I finally found it over the Christmas period and just had to put it straight on. This one is a lovely dark purple/blue. In the light I find it tends to look more purple, however in the shade it looks blue/black. I find that this one looks very close to OPI Madwell to order, they are almost twins!

To get the look in the bottle it will take 2 coats. The first coat looks streaky but the second coat fixes it up. In my picture I didn't use a top coat so this shows you just how glossy this colour is on its own. Just love it!

Which kylie?

1 CLICK HERE TO LEAVE A COMMENT
Today I was going through my stash and was surprised to find that I actually owned 2 Zoya nail polishes with the same name..... but totally different colours.

The first one called ... Kylie is a bright crimson red with a glossy finish. To get the same look as the bottle it took me 2 coats and I still found that I could slightly see my tips. In saying that I still love this colour.

The second Kylie I found in my treasure trove is a very pretty medium candy pink with a subtle light purple/lilac shimmer to it. It has a glossy almost dreamy like finish to it which is just lovely to look at. When I put this one on I could not stop staring at my nails.... ohhh I love this one!

Zoya Tes VS OPI Bay Bridge Sunset

1 CLICK HERE TO LEAVE A COMMENT
Hi All

Today I thought I would compare2 polishes that I feel look and feel quite similar.
The First one is Zoya tess. This polish is a metallic Rosy pink packed full of gritty glitter. This has a glossy finish which makes it look divine.

OPI Bay bridge sunset I tend to find is somewhat very similar to Tess, however is a slightly lighter Rosy pink and the glitter is grittier. If you are desperate for Baby bridge and cant find it I would just go get Tess its along the same vein.

OMG Kiki

Zoya Kiki, this has to be one of my favourite Zoya colours... I really have never seen anything like it. This is an awesome iridescent pink with a lovely blue base. It is super glittery and just shimmers all day long. If you look closely at the bottle you can really see that its packed full of glitter. This is such a great colour for summer.

Btw nails are short again... agrr cleaning out the garage so have to keep them short and neat.

Oh Essie why do u make so many pinks?

Did someone say Barbie pink? Well that’s what this colour reminds me of, its such a Barbie pink. This colour is a cool darkened pink with blue undertones. This polish is a crème and the application is excellent. It takes 2 coats to get the desired shade in the bottle

When I look at this pink I think SUMMER! It’s a Fun super-vibrant, cool toned crème hot pink. I find that this polish is a little chalky but still love it. The application is excellent 2 coats and you have the same look as what's in the bottle.
This colour is a cool toned hot pink with a glossy finish. It contains no shimmer or frost and applies like a crème. This one also looks like Barbie pink… but a lighter version. The application is excellent 2 coats and you have the same look as what's in the bottle.

purple

Delicious purples
Today I felt like showing you all some lovely purples. I find this month I am tending to lean towards wearing purple

Nicole Virtuous Violet
This colour is really beautiful. It’s a Violet cream shade with blue undertones. This is a lovely bright purple with a very fine micro shimmer throughout which looks stunning. The application and texture of this polish was fantastic, 2-3 coats of this and your nails matched the colour in the bottle. This polish did not come on streaky and dried quickly. I defiantly will be wearing this one throughout summer!

OPI Ulta Violet
I am not overly thrilled by this colour. This colour looks amazing in the bottle but I found it meh on the nails. When you look at the bottle all you can see is an amazing dark purple PACKED with glitter flakes. However on the nails it's like a watery purple mess with some glitter… and that’s after 2 coats. Not only that the polish went dull after 1-2 days.. boo! Shall I go on, nope why bother.
OPI Pikes Peak a boo purple
Now this colour is really something to look at!
This colour is from OPI's 1996 fall/winter Rocky Mountain collection… so it's somewhat a little difficult to find, but well worth the look. This is a lovely cool toned deep eggplant purple with a hint of shimmer throughout. I found that with 2 coats you reached the colour of the bottle. With regards to wear it lasted 3-4 days before you could see signs of wear. Worth trying this colour if you can find it!

China Glaze LOL
Hmmm I am not really into Holos but since everyone raves about this one, I thought well better give this one a go. This one is a medium holo purple. With regards to application… I wasn’t very impressed as you really need to let the base coat dry WELL and then apply a first coat, wait till that dries WELL and apply the second and so on. The time it took to get this one looking like the shade of the bottle was not worth it. I also found that this chipped after 2 days and really something that chips so soon after application I cant be bothered with.

China Glaze Lasso my heart
This colour is from China Glaze's recent Rodeo Collection 08 Release
I really like this colour. When I applied it I totally didn’t expect to love it instantly. I find this colour to be a nice deep plumy mauve with gold shimmer throughout. The application was excellent smooth and non streaky. It took 2 coats to get the desired shade of the bottle and wear and tear was excellent… 3 days no chips!

Zoya Hope

A lovely deep purple metallic colour with heaps of shine! I didn’t expect to like let alone love this colour. From the bottle it looks like a boring metallic purple but once it's on your nails wow watch out. The application of this one is great, I did not find it was streaky and it only needed 2 coats to look fab. With regards to wear, I went 4 days without a sign of wear.
Zoya Areetha
Well I am not totally thrilled with this one, I thought I would love it but nope it's not for me. It’s a creamy metallic lilac purple that is really hard to make look ok on the nails. I did 2 coats on my nails and you could see the brush stroke application in the polish… I'm sorry but it just looks hideous.

China Glaze Ankles of amethyst
WOW I love this colour. In the bottle it looks like a lilac purple with some shimmer but on the nails WOW it’s a pinky lilac purple PACKED with shimmer. The shimmer seems to be purple and silver flakes. It takes around 2-3 coats to make sure your tips do not show through. This polish is so blingy I looooovveee it!

Reds reds reds and more reds!

Essie Thigh High
When I look at the bottle I think how glamorous.. this is defiantly a sexy scintillating ruby red. In the bottle the polish just gleams and dazzles at me. On the nails however I find it looks slightly different. Its a dark ruby red that applies like a dream. I was however disappointed about the wow factor when it was on the nail.... there is none lol. When you apply it to the nail the polish seems to be sparse of shimmer. This polish kinda reminds me of OPI I'm not really a waitress but a dull version of it.... ahh well this one moves to the trade box

OPI Rose to the ovation
When I bought this colour I wasn't expecting to fall in love with it. I looked at the bottle I thought eh just another red shimmer. Well what a shock I got when I put it on.. this is a lovely Rosy red colour which had a lot more pink it in that i expected. This reminds me of OPI Bogota Blackberry but much nicer! This has a lovely shimmer throughout and is amazingly glossy even before you put your topcoat on. I just love this colour

Prune Danish
This is a deep wine colour, its very close to Malaga Wine, however PD seems to have a deep blue base to it. This one has OPI's old formula so the wear and application are top notch.
OPI I've read the script
OPI's holiday 2007 Hollywood collection, and is free of dibutyl phthalate, toluene, and formaldehyde. This is a red that has a real purple punch to it. If you look at the bottle you could almost see all that purple swimming around.
Reminds me of Essie's After Sex but it a much nicer version. With regards to application... excellent 2 coats and you get the desired look. Wear is so so 2-3 days and signs of wear, but worth it tho!

OPI Call my M-Agent-a
OPI's holiday 2007 Hollywood collection, and is free of dibutyl phthalate, toluene, and formaldehyde. It seems close to I've read the script but its a much more 'RED' version of it. This one reminds me of OPI I'm not really a waitress. With regards to application... excellent 2 coats and you get the desired look. Wear is so so 2-3 days and signs of wear....:-Z

OPI Bastille my heart
Fall from the France 2008 collection
Its a maroon/burgundy colour which has a slight shimmer in it if you look closely, otherwise it looks like a creme. I found the application to be excellent... it applied like a creme. The wear on this was excellent too... 5 days and no noticeable signs of wear WOW.

Wow what a yummy pink.. this pink is a lovely creamy blue based pink that goes on like a dream! 2 coats and you have the desired colour of the bottle. With regards to wear... 3 days no chips and still looking glossy! This one kinda reminds me of OPI I'm India Mood for Love

Zoya Jacy is from the Fall 08 pulse collection. This is a creamy purple plum colour with a blue base. Ohhh how i love blue based polishes....
When I look at this one close up I can see the tiniest shimmer which looks like it may be a little blue shimmer. The application of this polish is excellent, it is totally opaque in 2 coats.. gotta love that! With regards to wear... excellent again... 3 days no wear and still glossy. Although we are in Summer here I don't think I will be wearing this on my hands... however defiantly for the feet tho

My First Konad attempt lol

6 CLICK HERE TO LEAVE A COMMENT
Hi Guys

Today I thought I would show you my first Konad attempt. Please be kind ... as these pictures were taken MID clean up. In these pictures I used Zoya Sachi for the base colour and Konad Black polish for the design.
The plate that was used was M65.

I found this plate easy to use, however as my nail plates are quite large I had to do 2 prints on each thumb which was annoying as it took at little longer to finish those nails. If you see the close up picture of the thumb you can sort of see where I had to do a second press.

Overall I think that this was a pretty good first attempt. One thing people need to warn you about when doing a full nail Konad is to ensure you have cotton tips! These pics were taken MID clean up which meant I cleaned up most of the cuticle mess but had to go searching for the tips to really give it a good clean up... wish I had them out prior to stamping. Might use a Konad for my Christmas mani..... haven't decided yet...

SHRIMP ANYBODY?

Cajun Shrimp
This is a lovely bright orange coral colour with a hint of red tones. A lovely creme polish that totally reminds me of summer and is the perfect colour for a summer pedicure. The application of this polish is really lovely, it goes on like a dream. It took 2 coats to get the polish to look the same as the bottle. The lasting ability was also excellent, I got 4 days with no chips!
This is defiantly a colour to have around summer, or for winter pedicures to cheer you up!

OPI Russian Navy - Relased for Fall 2007
This has to be one of my top 10 blues. This is a lovely Blue black navy blue. This polish has a deep blue-violet hue to it, with a micro blue shimmer throughout. I think if it didn’t have the shimmer throughout it would be a boring blue. The application is excellent, the first coat looks streaky but the second coat fixes it all up leaving you with glossy jeweled nails. The wear on this one is fab as well.. 3-4 days and no wear

OPI Lincoln park after dark
This colour was from From OPI's "Chicago Collection" (2005). It is a dark deep purple with a creamy smooth finish. I hate to say I liked the colour but the pro wide brush does not do good things for this colour. With the pro wide and this colour it seems to be very streaky and if you adding a top coat.... its all such a thick finish and takes forever to dry... ahhh annoying!. I find that this colour seems to go thick and tacky. The problem with this colour is that thick and gloopy doesn't look good! I thought it may be just the bottle I got, so I tried out another bottle and the same thing happened I am really disappointed with this one.. but I do love the colour even though its a mess to apply.
OPI Dutch Tulips
All I have to say about this colour is I love it….

No no… I will go on hehe. Every time I wear this colour I get tones of compliments.
This colour is a very pretty bright cherry red with a slight hint of pink to it. It’s a crème so it is a delight to apply, 2 coats and you have cheery summer nails that match the colour in the bottle. The application in my pic does not contain any topcoat…. So imagine what it would look like with top coat… super gleaming nails!
This one is the ultimate colour or summer and a bright pick me up for the toes in winter

OPI DS Jewel

This one is ick, yuck. When I got this one i was so excited, in the bottle it looks amazing and is something really nice to look at but....... it looks NOTHING like it does in the bottle.
This one is a Rosy brown polish that is so sloppy and thin I could not get a nice depth of colour. This color is packed full of glitter but u cannot really see it due to the fact its so watery. The pic I took of it is 2 coats, you would really need 4-5 coats to even get near the colour in the bottle.. even then its NOT worth it. Sorry guys its a thumbs down on this one :-(

Black Tie Optional

I love this colour! This colour is from OPI's 2001 fall/winter World Collection and if you can get your hands on it I would! Its a very dark purple, looks almost black with a micro shimmer throughout it. the micro shimmer seems to be a gold and green as from certain lights this can show a green tinge to it. This is great for those gals who love the Vampy look.. it is def not something you can find easily so if you find it GRAB it!I have to say I prefer OPI's NON prowide brushes... this polish was so easy to apply only needed 2 coats... was not thick and gloopy. It also dried quick and removal was very easy.I found minimal tip wear with this colour too... which is unusual as I am using my hands all day! I wore this colour for a week and there was NO sign of chipping. Just LOVE it!!!OPI please bring this colour back!!

Time to celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that we are in the month of December all the Christmas colours are coming out. One set that i like is the Celebrations mini set came out.

What I love about this set is the collection of nice browns with a hot red. At the moment I am totally into browns, hence my love for this set.
Truffles and Ruffles is such a rich dreamy brown with a gold shimmer throughout. This reminds me so much of Zoya Kalista. The application of T&F is dreamy! It took 2 coats to get the exact shade of the bottle and was super glossy. I wish they made this one in full size!
Just a little sin-fandel
This one reminds me of Suzi loves Sydney, its a darkened brown red packed full of shimmer. Its quite pretty, mind my cuticles!
Oh my gosh I love this red! This is such a hot christmas red, nice bright and full of punch!
This is lovely red with micro shimmer that is very glossy. I need this in a full size!!!!

This polish was released summer '07 as part of the Psychedelic Summer. This colour is so yummy its a lovely shade of plum purple. The purple has a blue base and is very glossy. This polish is a creme and goes on like a dream. In this picture I have used 2 coats and no topcoat and look at the shine!
